Terms and Conditions
Our pricing is determined by the number of guests. If the number of guests change, the price of the tour will change also. To discuss the number of guests on a tour please contact us.
All prices are in NZD$. A deposit of 50% is required to secure your booking. Payment in full is required 48 hours before your tour.
The minimum number of guests to operate a tour is one person. The maximum number of guests is four.
It is the guests responsibility to arrive for the allocated ferry, helicopter or seaplane departure time and location.
Itineraries are subject to seasonal change and can be updated on this website without notice.
You will be provided with the final itinerary for your Hōpara experience prior to being charged.
You are required to adhere to the Terms and Conditions of our partner suppliers. These T&Cs will be provided to you prior to your Hōpara experience.
Where possible the start and end time of the tour can be changed to accommodate guest’s preference.
All guests on a tour are required to choose the same bespoke activity. If you are unsure of what activity you would like, or you and the other guests are not in agreement on which activity to choose, please contact us.
All guests on a tour agree to abide by the host’s instructions. All guests on the tour agree to abide by the health and safety instructions provided by our partners.
At times, Waiheke Island roads can be bumpy. Please contact us if you would like to go on a tour but suffer from driving motion sickness.
Please be mindful that we will be travelling in an SUV and guests will be expected to be able to enter and exit the vehicle without assistance.
In the unfortunate event of the car being damaged by one of our guests, cleaning or repair charges may be applied if required.
You must be over 18 to drink alcohol in New Zealand. Proof of identification may be requested if you look younger than 25 years.
We recommend all guests bring identification. It is also against the law to serve alcohol to a person who is intoxicated.
Consumption of alcohol is not permitted inside the vehicle whilst moving.
Beverages not outlined in Hōpara Explorer, Hōpara Deluxe or Hōpara Elite are not included in the price of the tour, and will be at the guests expense.
Transport within Auckland (mainland) to and from the downtown Auckland ferry terminal, or to and from any heliport is not included in the advertised price.
Transport on the island outside of agreed tours times is not included in the advertised price. Additional transport can be arranged on request.
Smoking is not permitted inside the vehicle.
Children are welcome on the tour, when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Appropriate car restraints for children and infants can be provided upon request, at an additional cost, presuming sufficient notice is provided.
Clients bookings are accepted on the understanding that our clients appreciate the possible risks inherent in touring and the associated activities (inc. entering a working farm and horse riding) and undertake our tours at their own risk. Clients should not assume they are covered by insurance policies held by Hōpara Ltd, including all liability insurance for death, injury, damage or loss of any kind. We recommend all guests have current and suitable travel insurance.
If the tour is cancelled by the guest:
- 100% may be charged if cancelled within 48 hours of the start of the tour.
- 50% may be charged if cancelled within 7 days of the start of the tour.
Changes to tour dates
Wherever possible we will attempt to accommodate a change in tour dates. Please notify us of your preferred date change as soon as possible.
If you request to change dates and we are unable to accommodate this, you may incur a cancellation charge.
If the tour is likely to be affected by adverse weather conditions we will notify you as soon as possible. In this case, we will either change to a date agreed to by our guests, or cancel the tour. If the tour is cancelled due to weather conditions or as a result of unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, we offer a full refund. Expenses or losses that are incurred as a result of cancellation or a change of date will not be paid by Hōpara Limited.
